Jose Perez has been working in the substance use and recovery field since 1986, bringing nearly four decades of experience and dedication to his role as Counselor and Clinical Supervisor at New Directions. He holds advanced certification as a Credentialed Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC), along with specialized training as a Substance Abuse Professional (SAP) and HIV counselor.
Jose was drawn to this work after witnessing the damage addiction can cause, both in his community and among people close to him. That personal motivation continues to fuel his commitment to helping clients build healthier, recovery-focused lives.
At New Directions, Jose provides counseling services and clinical supervision, always with a focus on respect, accountability, and transformation. He leads by example and works closely with both clients and fellow clinicians to ensure the highest standard of care. For him, the most rewarding part of the job is seeing clients make lasting changes and take ownership of their recovery journey.
Outside of work, Jose finds joy in cars, motorcycles, and flying large model airplanes.
