Kerri Kopelowitz brings over two decades of leadership and hands-on experience to her role as Executive Director of New Directions. With a Master of Public Administration and a Credentialed Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC), Kerri has devoted her career to improving access to high-quality, compassionate mental health and substance use services for all.
Before stepping into her current role, Kerri served as Associate Director and played a crucial part in guiding the organization through the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic. She helped implement new telehealth procedures in coordination with the Office of Mental Health and led New Directions through a successful transition to hybrid care, ultimately becoming Executive Director.
Today, Kerri leads a diverse team across clinical, administrative, and operational departments. She is deeply committed to fostering a collaborative and supportive environment for both staff and patients. From overseeing hiring and onboarding to maintaining open communication through New Directions’ open-door policy, Kerri ensures every person feels seen, heard, and empowered.
What drives her most is the people. “Every day is different here, and that’s because we work with people,” she shares. “Whether it’s a staff member or a patient, each person brings something meaningful to the table.”
Outside of work, Kerri enjoys reading, binge-watching great TV, spending time with loved ones, and visiting the beach whenever she gets the chance. Her leadership reflects a deep belief that everyone, regardless of background, deserves access to mental health care in a space that feels safe, inclusive, and genuinely supportive.
