Stephanie Ferrel,

Associate Clinical Director, Intern Director, Clinical Supervisor, Psychoanalytic Psychotherapist

Stephanie Ferrell brings over a decade of experience, curiosity, and depth to her multifaceted role at Brooklyn Center for Psychotherapy. With a BS in Applied Learning and Development from UT Austin, an MSW in Clinical Social Work from Fordham University, and advanced training in trauma and psychoanalysis, Stephanie blends clinical rigor with a deeply relational approach to care.
At Brooklyn Center for Psychotherapy, Stephanie wears many hats, providing individual therapy to adolescents and adults, supervising and mentoring clinicians and interns, consulting on high-risk cases, co-leading therapist interviews, and guiding new staff through onboarding. Her leadership style is grounded in her background as a full-time clinician, allowing her to empathize with and support the staff through both the challenges and triumphs of the work.
What Stephanie values most is the opportunity to think collaboratively with her team and patients. Whether she’s in a therapy session, leading a supervision group, or consulting on a complex case, she brings a psychoanalytic lens and an unwavering belief in the importance of listening closely, honestly, and with care.
Before joining Brooklyn Center for Psychotherapy, Stephanie worked in women’s health and adoption services, including roles as a counselor, supervisor, and branch director. Her early experiences laid the foundation for her commitment to helping people access therapy who might not otherwise seek it.
Outside of work, Stephanie spends her time reading, running, watching women’s basketball, and catching live theater whenever she can. She also finds balance in cooking, comedy, and the occasional Bravo binge. She speaks conversational Spanish, has started learning French, and makes time for the people in her life who help her stay grounded.
